The Dealing with Depression and Anxiety Group

What are Kieran’s Getaways?

Kieran was a loyal, good friend, devoted to his family and an inspirational role model who was tragically killed in January 2013 aged 18. Kieran Fest is a tribute to a lovely, caring young man and a celebration of his life over 3 days. To date around £30,000 has been raised by Kieran Fest!

Kieran’s Getaways have been developed with and for young people accessing 42nd Street to give them the opportunity to experience something new; to be inspired to create positive change and harness their skills and life experiences whilst having space to recharge and reflect. Kieran’s family are sure these opportunities are something he would have approved of.

We Tell You Project

A group of young black men from Moss Side and Hulme are taking a Kieran’s Getaway trip down to London in September 2014. They will meet inspirational young entrepreneurs and learn from national leaders about the issues facing children and young people living in poverty in the UK. They will also get some first-hand insight into how a global charity tackles humanitarian issues and responds to emergencies internationally. Key Ministers at the Houses of Parliament have agreed to meet with the young men to discuss the issues that young people are facing in relation to psychological wellbeing.

42nd Street Young Women’s Group

8 young women will particpate in a team building and project development weekend. The Getaway will bring together newer and more established members of the group to have fun, test out their problem solving skills and take a break from city life.
